Congratulations HCCS!  We are thrilled to share awesome news! 

On Friday, February 26, 2021, the Hellenic Classical Charter Schools, through the Friends of the Hellenic Classical Charter Schools, closed on a $44 million bond deal through the New York City Economic Development Corporation’s “Build NYC” program. 

 The bond financing, which took about a year to complete, will fund certain leasehold improvements in Park Slope (HVAC etc.)

The financing will also allow HCCS to build a new building on the parking lot of its existing location (Holy Trinity) in Staten Island for grades 3-8. The new facility will be equipped with classrooms, specialty rooms, an auditorium, and a high-tech library. HCCS-SI renewed the existing 23,000 square foot lease.

We thank you for your tremendous support and positive energy.  We are grateful to the entire team but I especially applaud Charles Capetanakis, Nick Leonardos, Joy Petrakos and Christina Portelos for working around the clock to make this dream come true.  

We will soon begin to plan for a virtual groundbreaking ceremony for Staten Island.   Great things ahead for our amazing children!
